This practice was founded by Alan Wynde in partnership with Fred Hampshire, and was originally in the garage of his family home.
After Mr Hampshire retired in 1988 the house was demolished and the purpose built surgery that you now see came into being (with a few modifications along the way).
In July 2004, Phoenix Veterinary Centre became a standalone surgery on its own merit.
Ian Simpson was keen to concentrate on client continuity and care, and to concentrate on his own interest in orthopaedic surgery and has since left to further his career in orthopaedics at the referral centre Lumbry Park.
Claire Newton BVSc MRCVS also came on board at this time, initially just as a helping hand but after a successful period became a partner in the practice from April 2007.
In February 2011 a ‘branch’ surgery of Phoenix Vets was opened in Sandhurst on the High Street. It is now welcoming many new clients and we shall be expanding facilities here in the coming years.
In May 2017 the practice became part of the CVS group.
It is now, as it has always been, a fully equipped surgery, purpose built with operating theatre, laboratory, ultrasonic dentistry, ultrasound and X-ray facilities.
The Phoenix Vets team run a friendly and personal service carrying on a tradition enjoyed during Alan Wynde’s days, and we continue to develop as a practice and are always focussed on the quality of service given to our clients.
